Default Headers with Radix?

How does the radix run on a truck with headers?

The tech guy at the local dealer that installs the magnacharger mentioned that headers would hurt the radix performance.

Thanks

I would suggest the Dyantech headers if you are lucky enough not to be in California!

No headers with a Radix.....what dealer was this??

I am a cali boy. I was looking at the TOG's. Blown, whats your opinion on those?

My local GMC dealer in O.C.
He said the headers would let it flow too much! I know very little about the technical side of auto mechanics and I still smelled something foul when he said this.

I have TOG's on my truck with the Radix. I don't see how headers would hurt performance. Power is just a function getting as much air/fuel into and out the engine and headers help get rid of the exhaust from combustion.

However, headers may lower the boost you see because exhaust is leaving faster than air is coming in. I know when I had my flowmaster, 9lbs of boost were seen with the 3.4 pulley.

The TOG's are nice, infact they are CARB legal. You can expect 20 or so rwhp with a good set of mid length/long tube headers with the Radix.

Losing boost makes logical sense. But is it enough of a loss to worry about? Maybe not?

Now all I got to do is get a freakin Radix already....................

you might loose some boost but you are not loosing power. It is just making it more efficient.

I gained 1/2 second reduction in quarter mile times and lost no boost with my Dynatech, Y pipe and cat install.

Less restriction means you can possibly gain .5psi. Less restriction is a good thing when your cramming all that air in the engine...
