headers install went wrong

Default headers install went wrong

headers are in, but i unbolted steering shaft to make room and now my steering wheel butons dont work and it says service airbag. what did i do wrong and how do i fix it?

Did you have to unplug anything to drop the column? Chances are there are some plugs to deal with.

nope just unbolted the steering shaft at one spot and swung it out. is it possible that because i didnt secure the wheel that it got turned and now the wires inside are twisted?

if the wheel turned when the shaft was unbolted you probably broke the wire coils in the colum

Uh-oh. Somebody spun the wheel when the shaft was off. That usually kills the clock spring at the head end of the column under the steering wheel. Not really a good thing.

you have to buy a new abs coil and take off the air bag, steering wheel and horn contact disc

oh...all this to fix airbag and steering wheel controls? brakes seem like their working fine...2 of the steering wheel controls still work...6 dont work...the turn signal still returns...what do you suggest i do? take it to dealer? will they know that i messed it up and not cover it under warranty?

Probably.... Especially if they see the headers on there....

Are they long tubes
