Default Headers, a different question

Its a swap question. Im dropping a LS1, 4l60E, klune underdrive and ford 205 into a 79 IH Scout. I would really like to at least leave room for a set of long tubes if not install them in my initial build. My frame is box tubing with 27 inches between the rails. The engine bay is rather large, the last engine in there was a 500 Caddy with Sanderson block headers and a 4l80E. Since I am navigating some uncharted waters Id like some general info about the commonly used LT's you guys are using.

I currently have both F body, and truck engine mounts, but am willing and able to fab up custom stuff if necessary for header fitment.

Which brand is tightest to the block?.

Which brand has the highest "ground clearance"?

If anyone knows of any Jeeps using LT's a link to them would be most helpful, if they fit in a jeep they should work for me.
