Default header longevity in Michigan salt

I'm thinking about a set of Tri-Ys but they're ceramic coated steel. How does their longevity compare to the ebay raw stainless headers?

Any scrapes or other faults in the ceramic coating and they'll rot like heck.

Stainless ONLY for a DD on salted roads, IMO.

Sorry to say unless they are jet hot coated, I doubt the coating is going to hold up.. I know this from exp.. Go stainless and never look back

I am going to have to agree with evrybody else on this I have seen a bunch of ceramic coated headers here in MI and no matter what brand they all end up looking like crap within a couple winters. Although I must say I've got a set of ASM (Arizona Speed & Marine) headers on my truck that have been on their for some time now and they have held up pretty darn well, just sucks last time I checked they don't make em anymore.

My next set of headers will be stainless.

Would it be possible to convert a set of 4into1 headers into tri y's? I've got access to a welder, just not sure how difficult it would be.

On my 2001 Yukon, I had the chrome Tri-Y's on it for 4 years and when I sold the SUV they were still in very good shape. I was impressed because because Plymouth uses salt before, during and after any snow. My SS headers on the Escalade (4 yrs) are holding up very well but they did turned dark from the heat.
