I have looked this whole world over for a good set of full length headers
for my 5.3 and come up with 2.....Arizona Speed&Marine...And FLP...does anyone know much of these or any other that are good..Thanx

both of those are good. the flp's look like a prety nice settup but are pricey. i have asm's and like them. i think that is all of the long tubes but there are some mids.

yeah if you do a search you'll find more than enough info on both the flp's and the asm's. The flp's are also marketed as Dynatech Supermaxx headers if that helps. I have the flp / dynatech's on my truck and am pleased.

Asm headers do not come with a y-pipe.whats the cost of a custom..
....plus does that mean New Cats......i cant find any tru aftermarket
y-pipes.

There are also the TOGs and LaPoles which are nearly identical to the Hamms I have.

You can't go wrong with ASM's, TOG, LaPoles and Hamm's(don't make them anymore). They all make around 20 rwhp. Personally I think the flp's are verpriced. I think ASM's are on sale over @ TByrne right now.

is it tru that there is not that much power to be had in shortys...like Jba&Gibson
...cuz there is a big price drop between the two..

You don't want to buy shortys.. Just save your money for mid-long tube headers. If you insist on shorties, go with JBA.

the only plus i see with shortys is keeping the stock y-pipe but
with the stock cats it might not be a Plus....whats the cost of a custom
y-pipe??????

You don't have to buy a custon Y pipe. You are only cut into it since the mid-long headera are longer than you stock manifolds. You will need to go the exhaust shaop to get the flanges welded on to your already cut Y pipe.
