But what does the converter have to do with 50 to say 100? The truck never drops below 4k the whole time?
Please educate me?

Btw, I was told by numerous people that your 228 cam was going to be way too much, and I would lose my bottom end if I did it, but were they wrong! I want more cam now.
I think most of my problem was in the tune, and my restricted exhaust. Tune is better today, and ride the truck sideways to about 60mph tonite..lol. I want going into pe mode and was running too lean.
Need to get some better heads too... it never ends...

Read up on convertor efficiency. That'll answer most of your questions. My recommendation is yank.

So is the implication here, that my tb converter is probably slipping too much to accelerate under the heavy load by the higher speed?

Unless you are locking the converter then yes you may notice some slipping. I would guess that being an autozone stall it's not the very best quality and naturally its not overly efficient. If I remember correctly converter efficiency was a huge factor for blown06. In high powered setups it becomes increasingly more important. Think about it this way you wouldn't use a stock clutch built for 250hp 3000lbs car in a 600hp 5000lbs build. So why would you use a stall built for a 150hp trailblazer in a 400+hp full size. Swapping to a proper stall built for your setup will help dramatically.
