Default Head choice for a 427

Im building an ls next 427 in an 02 2500hd what would be better for a torquey street motor afr 230s or afr 245 cathedral heads im using a 2400 stall converter

What's your cam spec looking like? And compression ratio?

and why a 2400 stall if you're looking for torque? Going to be soggy right in the middle of all that off idle torque a big motor offers

I'd lean on the 245 initially, but torque is about port velocity, and that's largely dependent on the valve size and cam choice

224/230 114 600/600 im looking at tfs 235s as well i might end up keeping my stock stall

With a 114 LSA and no advance ground into it, I'd pick the closer to stock stall and the 235s and try to keep compression above 10.5:1, minimum

larger heads show gains, but only at higher rpm. Tighten up the port to keep power down low

im trying to keep it around 10:1 due to the bad gas we have in thd boonies here should i have it ground with advance
