Default Have to replace my cam

Bought a 6.0 and was going to swap over the cam out of the 5.3. Turns out it is trashed so I have to replace it.

I have 3 in mind. Leaning toward the GT7.

Lingenfelter:
GT2-3 207/220 .571/.578 118.5 CL
GT7 208/230 .554/.546 121 CL

Speed Inc.:
SC1 224/232 .581/.595 114 LSA

What do you think?

Yeah, guess they do it for stock idle. Which I like. The more I look at the SC1 the more I think I would like it also. Get them to grind 4 degrees advance into it to get the powerband more into a truckish rpm range?

I have the GT2-3 cam in my truck and it pulls very hard. It idles very nice and was relatively easy to tune.

However, a 6.0 is a larger engine and can digest a bigger cam. The only thing I would be worried about is losing boost with too large of a cam and not being able to make up the loss in boost with a smaller pulley.

I would try the GT7. I was told large exhaust duration helps tremendously with a SC application. Be sure you have an exhaust system to support the exhaust duration though. Headers, true duals at the least.

I think the wide LSA prevents boost loss from overlap.

I hate cam decisions. Talked with Ligenfelter this morning, GT2-3 or GT7. They sold me on the GT7 for my application. Now everyone throw in their .02 cents to get me second guessing.

FWIW I shot off an e-mail last night to the cam company. I don't want to bash anybody. Just state facts. They have already contacted me by e-mail and phone. They offered to refund my complete purchase price + freight back or replacement. I've also agreed to send them the lifter from the bad lobe and another from the same bore. They are trying to determine cause of the issue. I am not the first.

Definetly do the 224/232-114.
Judging by your sig. pic. I'd say you race a little bit?
Not to mention, the 224/232 resembles to an extent, the cam Grippy just had cut for him by Ed Curtis.
... Not promoting copy-catting just the other 2 profiles with those super-wide LSAs are a turn off to me.

No racing here somebody steals my truck once in a while and I find pictures of it on the track 2 or 3 times a year.

I've already ordered the GT7. I am with you I do not like the 121 lsa either but I do like everything else. Large intake duration 208 vs. 224 is wasted IMO on a FI. Possibly promoting detonation/fueling issues I don't want. Emphasis on the exhaust duration is good on the two. 230 vs. 232. I read flow numbers recently done by Richard? at WCC. It showed that stock 317 heads show no significant gains above .550 lift. This was N/A so I don't know what FI does to the intake side but should correlate to the exhaust side. Thus the high lift on SC1 I don't like. Wasted wear on valve train components and reaching the limits of my 918 springs that are bought and paid for. Looking back to when I installed the Cam Motion cam I lost 2-3 psi boost with the same pulley size. Guessing it was due to the 114 LSA and valve overlap bleeding off boost. The 121 LSA of the GT7 should improve that but wish it were more of a 117 lsa or so to retain some bottom end torque but the extra cubes of the 6.0 might offset this. Thinking I will loose some bottom end torque but gain mid to top end which should be okay. Might have to spin the engine higher but would have to with either cam to realize their full potential?

Anyway my view of it. I by no means am a cam expert.
