Default hard to start

Hey guys,
I have been reading all the topic you talk about, I have learned alot on here about my truck, so now i have a problem and need help with it.
I have a bone stock '00 silverado with a 5.3, it starts great when its cold, but once its up to operating temp, it cranks and cranks at then it will fire, but normally stumbles and then kills, then if you start it again, it will stumble, but normally it smoothes out, and runs ok. It does seem that the truck does'nt have all the power that it use to , it only has 59,000 on it. I need some help

Once i get it running, i plan on getting a nelson tune and and other performane goodies

it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. try leaving it with the key on for about 15 seconds which will run the fuel pump then try starting. if it starts right up then you have a blockage or something in the fuel system. I don't mean to offend but are your sure you have the fuel filter in the right position. they are designed to flow one way.

I had the same problem with my truck, turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off of the regulator, if fuel comes out, it's shot. The regulator is located in the center of the driver's side fuel rail, held in with a clip. I'd almost bet a case of beer that that's your problem. The part is about $60 to $80 at the dealer.

is this a common problem with these trucks?

Very common. It definitely can't be good for fuel economy. I think you may have found your problem. I'll cross my fingers for ya.

installed new FPRegulator
changed out vacumn hose

the weird thing is i pulled my vaccum tube off several times and never found a drop of fuel. WTF????
