change fuel filter
installed new FPRegulator
changed out vacumn hose

the weird thing is i pulled my vaccum tube off several times and never found a drop of fuel. WTF????
You might have a fuel pump issue...I've seen bad pumps act the same way, only instead of too much fuel, the issue is too little. If spark is good, I'd get a fuel pressure guage on there and see what you get after a hot soak. Vapor lock is another thing to consider.

Did you guys ever figure out what's wrong with your trucks. I am having the same problem. I put a guage on it and it shows good fuel pressure when it's hard to start. I haven't checked the regulator yet, but will tonight.

Mine was the regulator. Put on a new one and it ran great.

Just adding a note to this thread: When you pull off the vacuum hose, no fuel should come out. If it does, replace the regulator. That means under idle vacuum that the intake is actually pulling in fuel and running way too rich. The fuel pressure is probably way off as well.

I've had to replace the fuel pressure regulator, 2 injectors, and drop the gas tank and clean it thoroughly, because of problems I've had with my '00 Z-71 running rough. Truck has 125k on it now and runs great. Just my 2 cents.

Thank god no problems with my '02, 105k miles and just now need to replace the brakes!!!

I just pulled the hose off of my regulator, and there was fuel. I'm glad to see it too, because I didn't want to change the pump.
