The '02-'03 LS6 cam (GM P/N 12565308) is a nice one - 204/218, .551/.555, 117.5 - almost the same as the Lingenfelter GT2-3, but for about $130 less. Near-stock idle, no need for a torque converter, etc.

I thought the z06 cams make high rpm power which would not help in this situation. Gears, some cam, and a stall would really help you out.

I would agree with the gears, slightly quicker and easier than the cam swap.

A 2400rpm stall converter and a good tune would help. A cam would help a little down low but not a hole lot.

a set of larger injectors.
a larger throttle body.
a larger camshaft.
a set of long tube headers, high flow cats, and open exhaust.
open air box with K&N or K&N cone filter system.
custom tune to make it all work.
