Default Guage Wiring Questions

About to install a couple new guages and have a couple of questions. I know that the Trans Temp guage in the escalade cluster works when you plug it up to the harness. My question is, does anyone know which wire I would need to tap in the harness to get a signal for my Trans Temp guage that's gonna be mounted in my pillar pod? And for a Fuel Pressure guage, I should just have to tap a switched 12v source for illumination since the guage would have it's own sending unit, correct?

well for the tranny temp gauge it will have to have a sending unit for it if it is an aftermarket one. it wil go in the hole on the side up near the front on the case. the wire for the one in the dash cluster will be a different reading and prolly wont work with an after market gauge. for the power yes a 12v switched source. then to the light switch for the dimmer on the lights for the gauges.

Check out this thread about where to wire up to get the gauges to dim with the factory cluster.
