Default GTO setup in a 99 Silverado

I've been thinking about this for a while now. I was going to see what you guys thought about or have heard about putting an engine (LS2) and auto tranny (4L65E) out of a 2005 GTO into a 1999 Silverado. Are there any known issues with doing this swap? Would there be anything preventing me from doing a straight up swap?

the oil pan is different the GTO is a front sump so that would have to change. I think some of the sensors are also located differently. I also assume the connectors to the injectors and other sensors are different you would have to swap them as well, physically the block is teh same size I believe.

i think it would be just like to the standard 6L swap that everyone else seems to be doing. should fit fine just have the harness things to take care of and go with truck oil pan

Read this, it will help.

It's not going to be as easy as a 6.0L swap, but you can buy all of the wiring harnesses (adapters) from Speartech. I don't think it will be a problem, but not as easy as a 6.0L swap. I think the above link explains most of it pretty well.

If you buy everything: complete engine, tranny, pcm and wiring harness, all you have to worry about is connecting up stuff such as fuel lines, coolant hoses.
