GRRRR, broken valvespring

parish you are going to fill the cylinder with air then take a say 14mm deep socket and place it on the retainer then pop it a fiew times with a hammer. this will break the locks and retainer loose.
i would call the factory and ask when they rate them at .6xx lift what there settup tollerance is. in my case the springs were rated a .590 or .600 and running them so tight with .591 lift was killing them.
like slow said they normaly set them up at around 1.800-1.700. hell now that i whink about it i dont think mine were in the .700's i realy dont remember though it was too long ago. i did write it on the retainers though for next time.
if it is a setup issue then this will not be the last one.
good luck

i am not sure what these parts are called, i guess it is the retainer and locks.
there is nothing holding them up, they are just stuck, not sure if there is something more messed up or not. rocker looks ok to me.

the only other thing to check is the valve stem seal. it depends how long it was ran like that. everything else should be ok since you said the valve still sealed.
and the big round thing that is shiny is a retianer and the things that hold it are locks if you were not being sarcastic.
tap it like i said and it will come off. i use a socket so you are not hitting the retainer on one side and messing it up.

Were the springs heat cycled? As in did you get the engine running to operating temp, then shut it off and, once it was cold, do it over?
Or did you go for some street kills right after installing the springs and cam?
