The price makes this cam very attractive too!
Dude, I was kidding....in case you didn't notice, the specs are nearly identical.

I don't think an LM7 is going to run like a LS2 by just putting the LS2 cam in it....but that cam will certainly make it more enjoyable to drive. Plus, like you said, the price is right.

Sorry, but your story doesn't add up.

1st: the LS2 camshaft won't work in our motors without using the LS2 front cover, cam gear and relocated cam sensor. Not just a simple cam swap.

2nd: The SSR throttle body is 90mm, not 98mm.

3rd: The 05 SSR throttle body is NOT a simple plug and play part to any 2003 GM truck. Its a completely different wire plug with fewer wires. http://z71.net/tbplug.jpg

-----------------------------

Those are correct specs for the LS2 camshaft (except it has .525 lift), but they are also the same exact specs for the old 2001 LS6 camshaft. If any of you truck guys wanted, you could run an 01 LS6 cam and have the same results. I installed that camshaft in my old truck 4 years ago and gained about 30 rwhp over the weak 99 camshaft. It will need at least a set of LS6 valvesprings.

I know you were kiddin' man.....I was just trying to sound like one of those "smart ***" typical guys you encounter behind the parts counter at the local GM Dealership...lol..

I may look like one of them but I'm much cooler...lol..

BTW, your cam will however make more power.....
later man...

So what kind of idle would the ls2 or ls6 cam have? I'm guessing its a pretty smooth idle considering the engines it usually goes into. Wouldn't tuning for help too even though above it was said that it wasn't required?

I selected a new camshaft from the 6.0 LS2 (2005 SSR), along with the 6.0 LS2 Throttle Body, and backed it with the New Torque Converter from the TrailBlazer w/ the 4.2 L6 engine. The package requires no modification to any existing parts. You still use your stock rocker arms and all your upper gaskets. The Camshaft from the LS2 add a good amount of power over the entire powerband! And the LS2 Throttle Body is a 98mm body, which allows alot of extra air flow ( deeper breathing) and this combination is not that expensive!

Below is A list of Part Numbers along with Prices. You can get these at any local GM Parts Dept.!

LS2 Throttle Body PN#12580760 $300.00
LS2 Camshaft PN#12574519 $347.00
TrailBlazer Torque Converter PN#12491321 $354.00 (stall speed @2600rpm)

Hope you guys like this write up, and I hope some of you give this combo a shot! Let me know what you think! Thanx.
how did you wire up the LS2 throttle body? this would be very helpful
