Gotta do the 6.0L swap!

Default Gotta do the 6.0L swap!

I have come to the conclusion that no matter what I do to this god forsaken 5.3L it will never be as fast as the 6.0L with the same mods. I thought I could at least come close but the 6L just makes so much more TQ and HP that I can't compete..

I am running consistant 14.2-14.3@96mph and I still get left in the dust by this pesky 6.0L truck with similar mods. I thought I was doing decent the other day when I raced him a lil on the freeway but come to find out the arsehole was just toying with me to make me feel good!

So just a heads up to those who have plans to go crazy with their 5.3L wussy motors. Throw the plans in the trash and start over with a 6.0L motor. You'll be less frustrated in the end. Unless you live in my area. Then keep your 5.3L so I can be assured of winning at least a couple races.


I'm gonna go find my fuzzy handled ratchet, which I left in my rose colored plastic makup case I converted to a tool box specifically for my wussy *** truck and fix my exhaust leak.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

My 5.3 runs pretty damn strong. I will say though, obviously, with the sme mods, more cubes will always run harder.

Well hopefully that will be my intentions. All the stuff I am doing to the 5.3 or plan to do will happily convert to the 6.0 later down the road. Good luck though.

bang for the buck it is hard to beat a 6.0 swap. yeah GM says it is only 15hp or whatever the ratings are but thats just silly.

on most trucks i believe a 6.0 swap, stall and slicks would be 13's, if you do the work yourself that is about $2000 and your in the 13's, not too shabby.

Yeah, I'm blowin off steam BUT I am defiantely gonna do the swap as soon as my Vette sells. I've got it listed in 4 places right now.

I'm gonna swap all the stuff on my 5.3L to the 6.0L. Add an LS1 intake, mill the heads and a mild port job. Depending on price I may do 4.56 gears too.

Of course the NX wetkit I am installing this Tue. will be swapped over also

The Radix would be nice but for the money spent I will be faster with the 6.0L, heads,cam and 150 shot. The Radix would cost me $5k + installed where the 6.0L is only about $1600 and head work is $700. I already have the juice, cam, intake, etc.

I'll be in the 13s with the 6.0 N/A and should have no problem hitting mid 12s on the bottle I would think.

Not meaning to hijack but if you already have a 4.8, is there anything else you would need to swap? Is the computer ready for it or do you have to bring in the 6's computer too?
