BTW I had the exact same issue. There is a chance that the rear cover is not aligned properly in which case replacing the seal only will not help ( we know, had the seal only replaced once and did not help ). The rear cover is a PITA to install when on an engine stand and impossible to torque to 22 ft/lbs. You can try replacing only the seal but if it continues to leak you need to pull the tranny ( at a minimum ), the cover, and re-align it with the oil pan and block.
Sure wish GM woulda used alignment dowels on the covers ( my only gripe about the GenIII construction ).

well it would not go in because the seal was already installed on the cover i never replaced it when i removed the cover to tear down the eng. it says to replace it and i said "oh it'll be alright" we'll it wasn't so i had to take the cover off pull the seal off and got a new one today just waiting to get off work to get it done. wish me luck. this is the only thing holding me back.

so i gotta fix that and rivera is gonna help buy some pipping because he wants to see the turbo go on and is impatient. i just need the coupler for the tb and maf. i got all the clamps and everything just need three couplers and pipping unless i speed density then i juist need one coupler and a air intake temp sensor.
