That sounds badass!

My only question is the driveline behind the tranny. Do you have the stock 4x4 transfer case? It's an NP241 right? I know they are fairly beefy, but I don't know where the limit would be torque wise. You may find that limit with the set up your talking about. If you do, there are a couple of 4x4 builders out there with beefier 241's, mainly in the output shafts.

Another problem, like XLR8NSS said would likely be drive shafts/u-joints. Since your gonna be dividing the power between the front and rear axles it won't be so hard on them, but you may find a weak link there too?

Sure John,
what kind of measurements do you want? Might not be today seeing as we had an ice storm last night. How do I post pics here?

Well, Mike got some measurements on his 1500HD 2wd a while back and I finally got around to checking them on my truck.

Here are some measurements of the crossmember and frame rails. This is what was measured. These measurements may not be exact but, give you a good idea of the differences.

1. Distance from bellhousing face to first bolt hole where crossmember connects to frame.
2. Distance between first and second crossmember bolt.
3. Distance from bellhousing face to tailshaft mount bolts.
4. Height and width of the frame where the crossmember attaches.

1500HD 4L80E 2wd measurements

1. 25"
2. 4 3/8"
3. 30 1/2"
4. 8 1/8" * 2 3/8"

1500 Reg cab 4L60E 2wd measurements

1. 23"
2. 5 1/4"
3. 27"
4. Can't read my chicken scratch so I'll have to check again tomorrow. The reg frame is much smaller though.

Some notes.

1. The HD crossmember is totally different looking than the reg mount. The HD mount is straight across while the reg mount is bent towards the front of the truck on the passenger side. The way it mounts to the frame is different also.
2. The holes needed in the frame for the HD mount and 4L80E are not in a Reg. 1500 frame.
3. Some fuel stuff may be in the way of a 1500HD mount on a reg cab frame.
4. The 4L80E is one huge *****.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow when I'm checking the frame again.

Here are some pics that Mike sent me of the 4L80E and crossmember.

Thanks Mike
