Default Curious About KR Sensor Condition?

I have seen warnings from forum posters particularly with the 5.7 motors about washing down these motors with water hoses and the KR sensors getting wet and corroding and such.

Did you see any evidence of moisture intrusion or lingering around this area on these motors when you removed the intakes?

You know, now that you say that I think I do remember the old knock sensor looking a little corroded possible. I pulled the old ones out to put the ones from my 03' in place because the connectors were different.
I'll have to look at them again tomorrow and check for sure.

Engine is out of a 98' TA, and had just turned over 100k when I bought it. It was still in the car so I got to drive it around before I bought it. Dam thing drove like a raped ape in the car and had great oil pressure, I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't drive it first.

I pulled the engine almost completly apart after getting it to make sure there wasn't too much wear or anything. The cylinder walls looked brand new and it was pretty clean.

Yeah, you can barely tell its cammed. I've got a Dynomax Ultra Flo 3" in/ dual 3" out waiting to put on. That sould really liven it up.

I'm really thinking its either the tune, exhaust or both thats holding me back at the high end.
This cam should pull hard all the way to 6K easily, but it's just not there yet.

That is very true on any of these motors. When I pulled my 6.0 apart there was a small amount of moisture down there with the K sensors. When I put my new valley cover on, I siliconed the black plastic caps over the sensors.
