Ok I got the comp cam 216-220 525/532 114 lsa from LARRY01Z28 and got some corvette Z06 LS6 Valve springs with 10,000 miles on them, but i don't have retainers. My engine has 80,000 miles on it, can I use my stock retainers or no?

 

I believe somebody else said that he bought so aftermarket retainers and they looked exactly like the stock ones so I would say yes...you can use them.

 

I'm willing to bet, that the spring retainers among all GenIII engines are the same part number. Just like the Lifters

Retainers shouldnt wear out, so use em! Gotta save some money somewhere...

 

I found new comp cams retainers for like $50, but if i can use mine i much rather would. I would just like to know 100% before i tear into my truck and relize at the last minute that they wont work.

 

The stock ones are fine.

 

Stock are fine. It is a nice bit of insurance to have a couple extra during install. They are small and difficult to hold in place, it is very easy to loose one.

 

I have been told the stock ones will work...btw...what part of FL are you from?

Yep., I put some Z06 spring on my truck and reused my stock retainers
