Default Good News, Good News!

Well, not really. The little 4.8 decided today that it had had enough. I'm 99% sure I busted a piston on the passenger side. There were 3 guys in the cab that were all 230lbs+(including myself). I think the extra weight is what sent it into detonation. All it took was once! First time it ever detonated bad. Well now I get to build a little more what I want. I'm thinking of staying fairly mild on the budjet and going with either a 3.900 or a 4.000 bore. I may go with the 3.900 bore due to more availabilty of off the shelf pistons with stock rods. Then 6.0 crank & heads, which I have already thanks to 1slow01z71, and around 8.5:1 comp with good pistons and balance of course. Same cam and a 2.75 pulley. I guess I won't have a shot at the 11's with the pe-wee motor. Oh yeah, might as well do the 6 speed swap while it's apart!

Mark

Not positive about the meth. Didn't pay attention. I'll worry about it after I get it back together.

Hah I was just thinking yesterday about your 4.8 with 30* timing wondering how long that would last and how the hell you did it....didn't mean to jinx you sorry bro

hope the new motor works out well.... if you and 1slow01Z71 feel like coming out to AZ you can add another motor build to your list!

Nope. If all else fails I can get a brand new one of around 2k. don't want to have to though.
