Default Going for a set of heads.

Well I have decided to stay N/A. I am getting a set of heads from TEA. Stage 1.5, 2.02 intakes, 1.55 exhaust and 68cc chambers. This will make around 10.8:1 compression. I talked to Brent and he was a huge help, saying that the stock exhaust valve flows better than the rest and will help make torque to get this heavy *** truck rolling. He said my cam will even work great with these heads, so I am stoked. I am thinking a little more cam though. I am going to add a TB converter while I am at it. What do you guys think?

Hello,

Could you list the math on 10:8.1 compression?

Thanks bud.

I wish, Big Tex did it for me. I gave him some cc numbers he worked it all out for me. He said too much info, just easy for him to do it for me.

Thumbs up

alright cool.

i wasn't even paying attention to what motor you had and how 68cc's will increase your compression w/ your larger SS chambers.

Yeah, Mine are 71ccs and the compression is around 10.2:1. Big Tex worked the formula showing me about four different cc combonations and 68cc puts me around 10.8:1. I don't want to go ant higher on pump gas.

Why are you going with a TB converter when there are proven highperformance converters out there?I see everything you've done to the truck so far has been first class. Why pinch pennies on a converter with the choice that's available now?

whitt1 I went with the TB converter because it is a daily driver and there are two trucks in the 12s with it already on SSS.com, so I think it has proven itself. I don't want to sacrifice the daily driver part with a loose converter. I do see were you are coming from though.

gonzo, The cam is 216/220 and I use 1.8 rockers with it. The lift is 555/563 with my combo. I may make a change though, Brent thinks my cam will work great with the heads.

10.1 compression is enough to deal with tuning running premium pump gas.
