a friend talked me into it.. the only problem is, is that the wife would rip it out if she sees it.. she doesnt check the truck. is there anyway to hide it? my friend told me to keep it disconnected and paint it black and tell her its a nitrogen bottle to check for leaks (i do hvac work). he also told me to get a 5 lb bottle. im gonna start off small and get a 75 shot bc my tranny is stock and so is the rear end. im definitly goin to do the window switch.. im going to start buying things peice by peice .. ive never done nitrous before.. all i know is to get it dp and wet. should i have jesse retune it or have someone else do it? what else is needed? thanks a lot (oh and whats the best company)

Jesse?? as in Jesse Bubb from W4Me performance??? IMO HELL no, he will never tune another one of my vehicles... especially not one with a bottle. I have since started doing my own tuning, and I suggest you read up and learn how to do your own.

ok so 10 lb bottle. and i can hide the lines. then i can have the installers here in south florida tune it as well. so what else do i need? do i need something like a tbs since in not doing dp. and hook up the lines to the tbs(i dont want the nozzle to be aimed at the filter bc its a wet shot correct? do i need upgraded injectors? and of course im going to need a certain set of spark plugs. im really excited now about this project even though its only 75 hp which is like what 40 to the wheels? but hey it helps. thanks for the help fellas

when you buy a wet kit, it will come with a nozzle that just screws into your intake tube. you do not want it facing at the filter, you want it facing at the throttle body somewhere around 6-8inches from it. because the nitrous system gets th fuel from the fuel system somewhere before the injector, the injectors do not matter, one of the best things about installing a wet kit in these trucks it that there is a fuel pressure test port on the passenger side of the engine below the vortec cover where you can tap into to supply fuel. i would also get some kind of a pressure controlled bottle warmer. you might also lok into getting some kind of a plate system for spraying in the fuel nitrous mixture. check the nitrous forum, i think i recently saw a plate that was like a throtle body spacer which was a wet nozzle and thats pretty slick.

i have a ZEX kit whch was a little expensive at even though i got it just over cost($600) but it came with absolutely everything. the controller has the solenoids built in and monitors nitrous pressure to regulate the amount of fuel it adds. because the solenoids ar internal and together, the wiring was quick and easy, and it works great. you will need to add a bottle warmer and maybe a purge on your own, but i think is was the easiest solution out there and i would recommend it. also, the installation was really easy so save the money and do it yourself. as far as tuning, i would make sure the shift pressure was all the way up, and make sure there is at least a little TM to keep from burning the clutches and turn off the truck's abuse mode. as far as tuning for the spay, you pretty much only have to retard the timing appopriately. i run a 100 shot with 2 degrees retard and a 125 with 3 and it works great. you might not have to take any out with a 75 shot. run premium gas.
