Going the nitrous route.

i think it will be ok for a while but the i think the real killer will come during the shift when the tranny slips during engangement. a shift kit will really help out with that. Finish Line Transmissions (sponsor)>>>>> sells a transgo one for $95 and it is def. worth the money. i have a B&M unit that was put in by the shop that rebuilt mine a about 40K ago and i launch from dead stop with a 100 shot at the strip with no real problem, but its only a matter of time, the differential was my problem. the 75 shouldn't affect it too bad with the shift kit.

would your wife really rip out your nitrous bottle out of your truck if she found it?
Either she makes all the money in your family or you don't beat her enough(I joke of course).

no it all bc of a stupid movie that came out 7 years " omg naawwsss" big explosion.
so she thinks that if i get inna wreck i will blow up. lol
is it really 40 bucks a week to fill? im goin to hide the bottle in my tool box and spray it black. tell her its a nitrogen bottle for leak testing. she doesnt go in there anyways and i only open it for work. so its always locked.. but wont i have to cut holes into the truck to get it from the tool box to the motor?

a 10lb bottle is good for several runs. I wouldn't use it very often b/c of your stock tranny and rearend. The best mounting is in the bed like they've told you. One of the most stealth ways other than direct port is a plate system that goes right behind your throttle body. It can be covered up pretty easy and they're actually better than nozzles. You'll have to cut probably a 1" hole in the bottom of the box and in your bed to have the cables/lines run up to the cab and to the motor. It's all safe if you do it right. Window switch is the way to go along with a nice dynotune. If you go bigger than a 75 you may be interested in a progressive controller that can engage the nitrous in stages so it's not too hard on your tranny.

i have a tahoe so i cant be much help about mounting in the bed but you wont need a very big hole at all and i'm sure you can do a little creative routing to keep it clean. like i mentioned before and like jakebdb56 said, the nitrous plate is a great idea. for me, nitrous cost either $4 or $4.50 a pound depending on which shop i go to. i dont know if it makes any difference in the price/performance, but they both sell medical grade nitrous (pure nitrous without the irritant and the smell tht is added to the automotive grade). a 100 shot (at the engine i believe) uses .8 lbs every ten seconds so based on that you can fifure out how long/how many runs you will get. but for me it is highly addictive and all week between drag nights i would easily empty a bottle or so just messin around. also, without a warmer, it sems you start to lose pressue when there are around 2 lbs left in the tank.
