Default going from 4.3 to 5.3, need advice

I have a 2005 Silverado 4.3 v6 with auto trans wanting to swap to a 5.3 v8. I have been talking to the buddy of mine who is going to help me do the engine swap and throwing around some ideas. Im pretty new to doing this and need to get some advice on engine mods for it.

Heres some specs that I can think of to put on here to maybe make the advice better to get.

- 3.08 gears in the rearend (will switch when I upgrade to probably 3.73 gears)
- 4.3 v6 motor (120k miles)
- auto trans (4l60e im pretty sure)
- 245/60/r17 tires I believe (I think 60, might be 55 or 65, have to look later)
- daily driver truck and don't want to break the bank on gas or mods, just a little beefy v8

I was thinking of doing a cam, cold air intake, longtube headers and maybe a programmer, since I am on a budget I think I can do the headers and cold air intake until my birthday (june) since I have to buy new wiring harness and other engine compartment pieces for the swap.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and where I could get the best prices, I am located in moore/ S OKC area. Thanks in advance

yeah but I like my truck, and am getting motor and everything else pretty cheap, and my buddy is helping me do the swap so saving money. just needed advice on it but think we are going with 5.3 and 3.73 gears to start, then after I move ill drop more money into it. I like it being paid off, color and work that has gone into the exterior so don't see why I would sell it.

Easy swap. I took a bunch of notes when I did mine. Could do it in a day if I had to do it again. It'd be a long *** day, but it can be done.

I do recommend getting fuel lines from a v8 truck, the official guide is the ****, helped me a lot. Save your money and do the cam and headers first. Go with electric fans keep hitting the u pull yards. Check out my albums btw...
