Default Getting the truck dyno'd today!

Going today to get some baseline numbers before the cam swap tomorrow.

I remember someone saying that I should adjust the HPPIII settings. What should I change, and how would it help me on the dyno?

Maybe shift settings?

Thanks!

Change tire size to larger diameter so you won't hit top end limiter in 3rd gear.Look to see what rpm your topend limiter should come in and calculate how much tire diameter change you need on Smokemup.com automath section.

Okay, I went to that site and it says that 6000rpm in 3rd gear is 141mph. So I need to find the tire diameter that will put that figure to less than 128?

If I put in a larger tire size, the figure goes up. When I put in a smaller tire, the mph goes down. I have to put in a 24" tall tire to get the number to under 128...

I'm a little confused here.

Change the axle ratio to 3.73 and run the automath gear program to find a combo that works. All you need to is fool the computer into giving you a full pull through 3rd gear.Make sure you restore your normal settings when you are finished at the dyno or you may get one wopper of a speeding ticket.

Okay, so here's what I came up with:

3.73 gears, 26" tall tire = 124mph at 6000rpm.

Is that what I need to do???

Yeah, I'm heading up there around 4:30-5:00. Doing the valvesprings tonight and the cam tomorrow.

Can't wait! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Scream, whats up bud. Going to Speed Craft today? What time? When I dynoed mine there I didnt hear about any problems with the 128 mph cut off. On my dyno sheet they ran the rpms up to the rev limiter, which is 6200 acording to hypertech, but the dyno rpms went a little over 6300 and some change. let us know what kind of numbers you come up with.

Yeah I am hitting the dynojet next week to see how much I picked up with the cam and we are going to throw a 175 shot on it to see what it will do.
