Default Gen 2 vortec

ok guys came across a new project. Project is a 1997 chevy single cab stepside with 5.7/350 gen 2 engine. Dont have base numbers yet. Probably get some soon. As for know current mods are cold air intake, long tube headers, efans and weld in magnaflow muffler. Oh i forgot it does have hypertech but plan on tuning once a few more mods have been installed. Want to see what can be done to a 1997 vortec gen 2 engine. What kind of cams are available? Plan is to keep natural aspirated, no power adders. Dont want a drag truck just a nice street truck.

Was all your piping redone? It gets real small around the cats. Even changing it after I had headers and dual 2.5 bullets with Xpipe, it made a HUGE difference. But I also changed it with 2.5" cats.

What I would go for next is a nice usable cam like a range of 206/212 to 210/216 range with 112-114LSA. Lift should max out about .530 unless you are doing any machining to the heads. Obtaining .530 is with new locks and retainers of +.50 too or else .470 is the highest.

Get a nice custom tune and also maybe look into lower gears or the VMAX intake manifold spacer.

A stroker crank helps out ALOT! But you will have to tune it.
