I get about the same as you, probably around 14mpg in the city. I also drive around most of the time without being in overdrive...so I probably sacrifice some mileage. I'd like to do a full tank on just the highway, I bet the mileage would be pretty good. Most I have seen on a full tank (34gal) is about 540 miles (combo of city and highway)this was roughly 16mpg.

I got 315 miles on my first tank, but I drove like a maniac on that tank of gas. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'm sure I can squeek out 400 miles next time, maybe after a performance tuneup?

14.23mpg thats about what my '95 got intown.
16+ in town 19+ hwy (with heavy foot)expect
slight decrease soon though.

Seriously, with my modded 4.8, I got 18.5 mpg when Tony and I went to the Supra event last weekend. I was running between 75 and 85 mph 95% of the way. Not a bad average for that kind of speed. Just after I put the electric fans in, I ran a tank going back and forth to work running 55 to 60 mph 80% of the way and got 19.8 mpg on that tank. I kept my foot out of it for that tank. Typically I avg 17.5 to 18.5 mpg daily, bad hard driving and all. The worst was 15.8 when I ran a tank hard with the cut outs open.

i usually get 18-19mpg when i go dallas - houston or other way around. it did take me 3/4 of a tank once though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> , only took 2 hours and 50 minutes though... heh....

I had a 96 2wd ext. 350/auto before my 2000. I averaged 460 miles per tank back and forth to work which is all back roads and interstate.This is with a 3.42 rear.My 4.8/5spd gets about 480/tank with a 4.10 same roads.I tend to drive conservative. Well most of the time anyway.

I know you all look down on my L31, but what is your gas mileage like?

I think I have a 28 gallon tank.

I recently did 370 miles, and put in 26 gallons. What's my gas mileage?

Project Supertrooper has 98K on 'er, I think it's time for a PSJ tuneup... plugs and a custom airbox, new oil, and maybe a muffler.

So what do you get per tank? I didn't screw around that much on this tank either.

And I only have 3.08's, imagine what the gas mileage would be with 3.73's, this motor is not that effecient (L31).

I got 14.2 on the highway with my Avalanche 2500. That was at 80-90 MPH with 4 guys in the truck.

I stopped measuring it after that. I guess I don't really care. I just drive it to the train station and then to tow my trailer.

That 8.1 liter needs to shut off some cylinders or something..LOL...I think thats been tried already....
