Default Future LQ9 mods?

I'm looking forward now to future LQ9 mods.

I was thinking about stock LS6 heads and a cam. I want a cam that makes a lot of torque where I drive between 1000 and 3000 rpm. I rarely go above that. Yet I still want a cam that's going to give a better top end than stock if I do decide to get on it. As far as the stall goes, I was thinking about keeping it stock or maybe a trailblazer stall. Your input is greatly appreciated.

The LS6 #243 heads will raise compression to roughly 11:1. Along with Low lift/low duration cam like the LS6 cam would work well. Custom tune, Heads/Cam P-T-V clearance, 93+ fuel all critical to this combo.

I currently have a Trailblazer I6 TC and for your first converter is a great choice . As far as drivability goes I wouldn't change anything on the truck if you don't spin much over 3K. Mods are only worth it if you use it.

So you say the only thing I should change is to add a TB TC and be done with it? What if I did LS6 heads and a TB TC?

LOL, there is a budget I guess. As far as exhaust goes, all I plan on doing is having a Flo Pro muffler welded in.

If all I did was a trailblazer TC, what kind of gains would I see in the butt meter?

maybe 3-4 tenths in the quarter depending on weight of truck. Still requires tuning and some hours removing trans. If you are 2WD a Trailblazer stall would be easy. Go with the cam first IMO.

I think I'll do a cam and the TB stall. Could you recommend me a cam that would work well with the TB stall and have a prominent low end? Thanks for your help

LS6 Camshaft
204/218 duration

.551/.547

117 LSA smooth idle

Requires 2002+ LS6 valve springs, good low end power

I may be wrong but the LS6/Z06 Cam has a 0.050 smaller base circle on the cam, requiring longer pushrods. The are many other low lift/low duration cams out there, look around at the sponsors here. LS6 Cam and springs could be had for 350-400, or maybe cheaper.
