Default Full Exhaust Question

I'm needing some help with exhaust. I have a 2005 Silverado 5.3L crew cab. I am in the process of installing wheels and a lowering kit on it. Next month I'm going to be the exhaust from the headers all the way back. Does anyone have any ideas for set-up? I like the Volant cat-back but I'm not sure what headers will work best. (h-pipe...etc) I'm looking for a side or mid outlit and high HP!!! Any help would be great! Thanks...

Welcome to PT.net
Do you have headers already? Y-pipe or tue duals from the headers? You can click on my signature picture and you will find pictures of my exhaust setup on the pages there.

The Dynatechs are considered the Caddy of systems. You can find them for our sponsors slightly cheaper.

Sorry... I did not think about the link. Were can I find the system for less? Do you think another set-up would be better for less money? I will still have the get the cat-back system so that's around $2000 for the whole thing. By the way.....nice truck! I've got about $5000 for mods. etc. so any ideas (best bang for the buck) would be great! I still need to do the computer, intake, maybe NOS, rear end, etc...hanks!!

If you buy a $2k catback your nuts.
I paid about 420 for my ceramic coated LT's and y-pipe. another 300 for a Borla XR-1, Dynomax Bullet (resonator), and 4ft of 3" midpipe. then another 100 to have someone bend it and weld it up.
you can save about 115 on the Y-pipe if you just Do LT's and dual exhaust. Just buy the piping from summit or the muffler shop and pick yourself up a couple mufflers that you like and have the shop bolt it all in or weld it up for you.
If you go with duals buy 2.5" pipe, if you go single buy 3". If you want to play with muffler placements for sound buy some Band Clamps so you can rearange everything without cutting and rewelding.

Do that and get it custom tuned and you'll have about 30rwhp more and still spend less than 2k. i'd say anywhere from 1000-1500 depending on pricing in your area and the products you use.

If your considering Nitrous i'd go ahead and take another 2k and contact FLT to the right of the page and get a stage 4 transmission, because your going to need one eventually. Mine just started going out the other day so i'm playing granny for a while.

Could I do the Dynatech system and just a high flow muffler and have it exit under the truck??? That way I could save the money from the cat-back or would I loose HP. Thanks guys..
