Default Fuel pump question ASAP please

2005 silverado and newer with nonreturn fuel system. Where did you guys get your pumps. I bought one from texas speed and the guy I talked to said that just because the web page says to 04 it will work but now that I have the pump out it is not looking that way. What pump assembly are you guys running and where did you get it from?
Thanks
Ryan

what seems to be different. return style or not shouldnt make one bit of difference when replacing the pump itself

Thats the thing I dont know if there is any diff or not. Never seen the pump of either one of them. The walbro is skinnier and shorter and my filter is in the tank, the rubber hose it comes with will not fit the fittings or anything but I thought about skipping it and just putting a inline filter. Im just lost, its diff than the one in my buddys t/a and i thought it would be the same

I have the pump from texas speed and just cut the bottom of the bucket off and spliced the new pump in to the existing wires.

What will cutting the bottom of the bucket off effect in a bad way? I have always kept a 1/4 tank in it since I bought it, so if loosing pick up would be the only thing I would be ok and might just do that.
