i think my front axle actuator is taking a crap. it locked in at the shop and everything seemed fine, went to pismo yesterday and had a 2wd got stuck got pissed. question ; can it be rebuilt ? can it be made to engage manually ? like an ox locker. i would gladly give up the autotrac, if i could manually engage it. i hate all this electro crap on my truck, i can see all this crap on a yuppie suv but not on a hd truck. i would rather have a lever than a button and a hundred sensors and contacts. anybody got any ideas ? . e

 

ok, can anyone tell me how it comes out ? i have a picture someone sent me from the manual but it's not close up enough to tell. it has flat spots like a nut on the plastic so i assume it threads in but i don't know if there is any retaining clips on the other side where it goes into the front diff. let me know if you've pulled one. thanks e
