Default Found out some info on L92 exhaust

So I called Corsa to ask if their cat-back systems are made out of platinum; they claim they are not. The kit for my truck is $1100. The factory exhaust is 3.5" from manifold to tip. Corsa claims the stock pipe reduces before the muffler to only 2.25" and then back to 3.5" after. I can not see this reduction so I guess I can neither confirm nor deny. Does this make sense to anybody?
Corsa said they get better #'s by using 3" throughout on their system, 12 hp and 16 ft. lbs. at wheels. Thats pretty weak for $1100.

I don't see the point of wasting money on a cat back. Just weld in a different muffler and be done with it.

seeing the price I agree. Should I steal their idea and change to 3" instead of the 3.5"? I would like to get some kooks LT's as well but I don't think they make them yet.

A customer of ours has his stock exhaust and muffler with a cutout
With the cutout open it only gained 2 rwhp

That's surprising. I just bid on a 3" corsa single in dual out on e-bay. It's off of an f-body but I'm pretty sure I can make it work (master welder). Hopefully I can get kooks to hurry up w/ the longtubes for these trucks.

id just change the muffler and leave the rest alone. Most of the cat backs on the market are way overpriced, when the only thing you really need to change is the muffler itself. thats the most restrictive part.
