What are these running nowadays? 4.030. Which brand do you prefer and why?

you might want to lower the compression ratio

ok from what I could gather you have a radix on your truck and you want to build your motor up to hold more power, but you are on a budget.
This is what I would do if I were in your shoes. Right now I would say save your money and not spend it on new heads; our heads actually flow pretty well. The week point on the lq9 for running high boost is, week crank and rods and our pistons are too high of a compression. If you are going to be building a motor I would get yourself a good set of rods and a dished piston to lower your compression. I think that our crank is good to around 600hp, so you should be fine to reuse the lq9 crank, but the rods are week.

But on the other hand if I was building a motor for myself and I had about $1200-2000 to spend I would get a stronger crank a set of really good rods and a set of dished piston that would put my compression down to around 9:1, then I could run about 15 psi of boost on my truck.

A radix setup can't make 15lbs of boost with a 6.0 motor, you might get 9-10lbs max,so decreasing the compression is not nearly as important as providing adaquate fueling. With a desent cam, heads and exhaust you'll probably only have 8lbs of boost so your effective compression won't be that high.

now that's what I've been thinking about. why give away that extra power if its not necessary.
