If you are going to the expense of a forged bottom end,why stay with a 5.3 displacement, when the cost is the same for the forged crank, rods and pistons? You can buy a stock stroke forged crank from Lunati, but it's expensive.

Lunati and Eagle both make stock 3.622" stroke 4340 forged cranks. If you order just tell them you have a 5.7L or 6.0L motor as the operator may balk at the application ( the 5.3L has the same crank as all the other LSx motors except the 4.8L ).
BTW it's real easy to bore out the 5.3L block to 3.905" and the 4" stroke crank drops right in.....
