Default flyin' pistons?

ok so im a total suspension guy. i could build you the sickest trophy truck around but it would probably have a 6 banger in it. i have a 00' silverado with a 5.3 . 70,000 miles. i went out the other night in the rain and did some doughnuts. my truck hit about 5600 rpm. that bad? i have about 20k in suspension work into to so im trying to not blow my motor just yet. also, is there any possible way my truck could be knocking? is carbon or a bad knock sensor possible at 70,000 miles. thanks a lot guys for any advice

You'll probably find a lot of people on here that spin their motors up to 6 grand on a day to day basis, just daily driving.

5600 won't hurt the motor, but doughnuts are bad on the rear wheel bearings and such.

i would just go with blocks. if u start messing around with tension on ur leafs its really going to mess with ur ride quaity. or if u got about $600 buy a set of deaver leafs. i swear on my life you will LOVE them

Full size trucks cannot use blocks. Shackles, hangers, leafs, flip kits are the choices on fullsizes.

NO....you CANNOT use blocks to DROP a full size Chevy truck, the springs run OVER the axle, you HAVE to use drop or de-arched springs or a hanger/shackle combo if you're doing a stock-configuration static drop and staying with leaf springs. if you use a flip kit to move the spring to the bottom of the axle housing you're gonna drop 5-6" and THEN you can use blocks to go further if you want....but you'll need to c-notch the frame to clear the axle, and anything more than a 6" static drop is puttin' the frame mighty close to the ground

please make sure u know what ur talking about before posting......

Oh...and 5600rpm's is fine on an LSx motor, I shift at 6000rpm every day

Just to muddy things more, I lowered my '03 4WD by REMOVING two blocks which were between the leaf springs and the axle. Add some 2WD u-bolts, and it was one of the easiest mods I did.
