Does anyone know what fluid ally takes.Another board says synthetic,dealer and tranny stick says dextron3.Fluid is ready to be changed and I dont want to mess up big$$$$ tranny.

 

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. My 02 has a little over 50K miles on it. Transynd is a good synthetic Dextron 3 ATF developed by Allison and Castrol but it is pricey. Allison recommends you change the fluid and filter initially at 5000 miles. Then again every 25000 miles after.

Allison approved oils list - look for ATF in the Grade column (you need adobe acrobat reader installed on your computer to view)
