How dependable would a FLP level 4 4l60e be with a modded 6.0. I need a tranny rebuild and I'm undecided if I should trust building a 65. I read that the level 4 60e can hold up to 550rwhp!

I know Parish8 had real good luck with FLP and often RAVES about their customer service. I agree with greentahoe, I'd go with the 4L65e from FLP as well. I think most people now are going with the 4L80e swap, and I know that Texas Speed and Performance has "swap kits" in stock and ready to go.

I doubt I'll be putting the 80e. It seems like a power robber and would only be necessary for those making extreme power. ex: Parish
I agree on the 4l65e but there's a big price difference. Also, 550 rwhp is a lot of muscle. what, 610-630 hp at flywheel.

check with slowprocess to see what tranny he went with. i know he seems to enjoy his so far. his 6.0 is pushing some pretty good numbers and is about to get a healthy injection of nitrous to boot.

i think you are on the right track keeping the 4l60e/4l65e. the 80 is heavy and a power sucker too. not a direct bolt it either. the 1st gear in the 4l80e sucks if you dont have a shitload of tq.
i think a built 6.0 even with a 100shot or more would be good with one of chucks built 4l60e's. you really have to go nuts to get much over 500rwhp and that is about when the 80e would come in handy.

Call Chuck and talk to him - he's definately interested in hooking us truck guys up with an awesome tranny and has recently spent a bunch of time developing some billet options to make the L5 even stronger.
