Is flowmaster exhaust any good on 6.0's I have a 99 2500 with a 6.0 and i have always ran flowmaster but i haven't seen too many people run them on the newer trucks.

the 6.0 is known to have more drone than the 4.8/5.3 and flowmaster isnt the best flowing muffler out there either

id suggest magnaflow, hooker aerochamber, or corsa if cost isnt an object

Unless you get a single chamber , but then noise becomes an issue. If you want no rasp with good sound, and have deep pockets most here will tell you to go with Corsa or Magnaflow. Otherwise, the Hooker Aerochamber sounds good, and isn't too loud.

pockets are shallow, that's for sure. Trying to buy a house and land, not to mention i am going to get a tune here soon also not sure which one of those to get. So magnaflow, which part number does anyone know. I am going to remove my cats, i want it loud but not a drone in cab. I don't mind hearing exhaust but i hate that drone.
I am planning on running one three inch out the factory location.

well that rules out the corsa( 700-800 for a cat back)

do you want a whole new catback or just a muffler

to get rid of cats id say get a jegs of-road ypipe

My truck is a pia because it is a 99 6.0. You hardly see any options for these. Will the system for the 5.3 fit????

I am willing to either buy a cat back system or just get the muffler and build the rest of the system. I have a buddy that works at an exhaust shop and can bend up to 3" pipe.

If this truck is a 2500 it will have 2.75" front pipes and duals all the way to the stock muffler (the ones I have seen). I would go magnaflow. There full catback kits are great, but if you can't find a good deal on one just replace the muffler. Magnaflow has single 5x11x22 mufflers that have dual 3" inlets and a single 3", 3.5", or 4" outlet. For a tailpipe just have a 3" one bent, or go with a prebent replacement. Most exhaust shops can get a tailpipe to fit easily and use stock hanger mounts. On the cats I would put pipe through the stockers, or just replace with 3" pipe. (might not be able to pass inspection in some areas)

edit: if your buddy works at an exhaust shop, he might be able to get you a good deal on a full magnaflow kit. they are real nice.

I have Flowmaster on my 5.3L and it drones so much it feels like my ears are about to bleed. I'm going to junk it soon enough.

No sh*t...I had flowmaster 40 series 1 in 2 out dumped before axles with no cats, and I went to a single bullet comming out behind axle and couldn't be happier with it.

Try the Flo-Pro HD Big Oval muffler that's what I have on my 6.0. Good sound without the drone. www.flopro.com.
