Default First Time ever at the Track

Last night (well from 12 to 2)
I went to the Denton/Sanger whatever 1/8th strip.
I had beent to watch before with my 89 Jimmy, but this was the first time i had a chance to take my new truck.

first run me vs Audi TT
Reaction .798 1.290
60 2.521 2.152
ET 10.235 10.379
MPH 62.012 -

second me vs older styled Chevy/gmc ex cab (didnt look really just lined up and left him

me vs him
Reaction .745 1.013
60 2.459 2.991
ET 10.122 11.902
MPH 71.103 62.095

I ran another one after a short rain break and after about 100ft it was so slick i coasted
Also ran a RT dakota he beat me on this run, but i couldnt get the slip b/c the old lady couldnt find it (she couldnt find about 50% of them for anyone)
My last run of the night against the RT Dakota (talked to the guy before hand - 2002 headers true duals TB spacer air intake and 275 tires)
Me Vs RT.
Reaction .679 .699
60 2.541 2.550
ET 10.166 10.248
MPH 71.822 69.650
YES!!

I have a 2000 GMC Reg Cab Short box 5.3l
stock with 2inch rear drop shackles with 235/55 tires (crap!) and the tail pipe hacked off about 8inches before it comes under the rear fender (previous owner did that)
I'll have a 3in flowmaster 40 series put on sunday (running a 3in pipe from the y back)
and Ill have a UPD ordered this coming week. What else should I do next - HPP3 I have been told.

Default Re: First Time ever at the Track

also the first run i didnt have the limited slip 'locked in' or whatever you call it
but i was told how to get it to lock in and that helped.

BTW they ran a full tree with times (regularly they run a straight green with no times)
i hit it on the 3 amber and well im still smileing. I was hopeing for a 9 sec run but the rain kinda hurt that chance.
