I just took out my 04 Z71 EC 5.3 - 16.9@86.
How does that compare to what other people have seen out of their trucks? I wanted to get a baseline, the truck has no performance mods at all. Any feedback welcome.

15.9 i dont think is too bad. I have a 04 sc sb 2wd 4.8L with a few mods and i ran mine at the track.......14.98 @ 93.04mph and i was told that was really good for my truck. I know you have a Z71 and you weigh more than mine and you are all stock and you have the 5.3L. I think when you start modding it, you will be pretty ****** quick.

the time you ran was very respectable, my truck ran 16.1 - 16.2 bone stock I had a 2002 ecsb 2wd that ran 15.62 bone stock so you are not far off of it. plus your truck is quite a bit heavier than my old 2wd. I have only been modding my truck for about 2 months so you can get an idea of what you can do for reasonable $$$$$$. check out my signature

I just re-read my post and realized I mistyped my time. It was 16.9 at the same speed. Sorry about that. If it were 15.9 I would have been pretty happy. What about the real time? Again, sorry about the error.

You're truck should be about the same as mine was stock except you might have about 10rwhp more...
I ran 16.2@86mph bone stock... The mph is what you should concern yourself with. ET doesn't mean a whole lot IMO.
I will say that the best mods I did on mine before the turbo was the cam, stall converter and custom tune. With those and a set of AS&M long tubes and gutted cats I dynoed 304rwhp (before tuning) and ran 14.29@97mph 2.0 60' after tuning. I was still totally streetable and got 15.5mpg... Was a great setup but I soon wanted more power....
At his weight and mods he shouldn't have to use 4wd. Stock I couldn't even spin the tires. At most I would just stick it in Auto 4WD. It wasn't till after the cam and such that I had to use 4wh Hi.

Yeah, there was only a bark from the tires when I launched. It deffinetly feels like it could use more stall, maybe a 24-2600 or so. What have you guys used on stock motors? I am ready to buy the STS kit, maybe within the next couple of weeks, so maybe more stall. But, this is my daily driver. I just dont want ot get left at a stop light by a 4 door grocery getter.
