Yes you need springs. 918's or LS6 would work. Some say the 918's have a sewing machine sound. I haven't heard them myself. Others will chime in shortly.

That cam is going to suck in your heavy *** truck with no stall. Trust me I know. I had a 222/224 112lsa cam in my truck with a 2500 stall at the time and it had no ***** down low. You need atleast a 3000 stall to take advantage of that cam. I have a truck almost exactly like yours and it sucked in my 5400ish# turd. And I had lt's on my truck and nitrous. On the nitrous it wasnt so bad but the cam really didnt kick in till around 35-3600 by 4K you could really feel it. Around town driveability was OK and thats with Allen street tuning my truck.

Use aftermarket you can bend the stockers if you spin it up high some people have good luck with the stickers some bend them then break valves off into the cylinder

It sucks cause you loose sooo much low end power. You can do it but be warned peddle response sucks. When the tc is locked and you are cruising down the highway ANY little hill will make it come unlocked or downshift. When jsut driving normal it feels like you have 5-600 pounds in the bed(felt like I was hauling my four wheeler all the time). This is my personall experience with a bit bigger cam. You will lose e/t but gain mph at the track with it cause you loose so much bottom end but it flies up top. You need a 3000 stall or it will be a major dog off the line. If you say this is the one you are getting then get it thats fine but I guarantee I will see a post in the drivetrain section on "What size and brand stall should I get" in about a month. Im just telling you my personal experience in my Z71 take it with a grain of salt if you choose.

Go with Comp's 918's for springs, Comp's 7.4 5/16" pushrods (don't use the stock ones). 114LSA advanced 4* w/221 duration as in your specs is not that bad down low.

Big werd on that one. Lotta duration and low LSA for the stock stall. Itll be a dog down low.
