Default Finally got my Headers!!!!!

Well, today I finally got my headers, its only been 6 months, I bought the Ceramic coated Doug Thorley Tri-Y's for 01 Sierra 5.3. Who else has these?? They are supposed to be coated but they almost look chrome but not quite as shiney. I dont have any pics but could someone verify that these things are actually coated?? THANKS!!!

Do they look kinda of white-ish? If so, they are. What part # did you order. Should be 310Y-C.

Mine were chrome. so if they are "all-most chrome", I'd guess you have ceramic coated Thorleys. To bad you aint got any pictures...

Interested to see how they came out...

From your description they are coated I have coated edelbrock shorties and they look the same way you describe your headers. Mine also look chrome but not as shiny.

The P/N on the receipt is DTE-310-Y-C ($546.99 from Summit) but the headers have 310-Y stamped on them. Yes, they kind of have some small globs of hard white stuff in some of the corners and around the welds. Seems to me that the coating is very thin, I hope they don't discolor too bad. Yeah, I need a digital camera bad. I'll be sure to get pics of everything when I get one. THANKS!!!

I havent installed them yet, I am going tomorrow to talk to the local muffler shop about doing the rest of the exhaust, I want them to merge the 2 2-1/2in pipes into one 3 in and go into a single 3in in/out Magnaflow (still not sure what size) dumped before the axle. My pulleys should be here soon and in the next couple of days I will put my LS-1 fans on.

Oh, I also wanted to ask if whoever has the Thorley's, if you used the gaskets they provided, did you use the stock manifold bolts, did you use any locktite on the bolts, and have you had any leaks or blown gaskets?? THANKS!!
