Finally got a cam

No kidding? Thanks - I was about to go run some searches and/or try to cross reference the specs with the duals out there on the market.
Custom cam - if you hear anything that might work, let me know...

Marc,
here is what ed wrote:
thats for turbo sorta torque

What I'd like to see a typical package is small port volumes and a very efficient intake port, long runner manifold and some small diameter long tube headers. Those parts coupled with a high lift, short duration camshaft, somewhat high compression and a good tuner

They have pretty good services, if that's what your asking. I don't think you'd have any trouble with any of the sponsors, personally.
Check out the sponsor's for sale section. Wait and find you a sale.
You might want to look @ a valvespring kit. Patriot sells their gold spring kit for $300. I don't know if you would like to do double springs or not. That camshaft has some nice fast ramps. Find you a reliable spring if you go single.

The Yank 3,000 is probably the most common stall. I can't recall anyone being unhappy with it. I think Big Tex like the slightly tigher 2600 over the 3K. More personal preference stuff I guess.
Thunder is a great place to buy from. I like their automated emails with tracking numbers and quick shipping times.
Stock retainers are generally considered very acceptable up to about 6,500rpm. You might see more than that with this cam, but if you spend much time up there I think you may want to look into ARP rod bolts too. I think you'll be safe though.
Got your PM, SS - thanks.

Go cheap and get the trailblazer converter to start with, it will stall 2400+ behind your truck. It will ease you into the world of converters, and greatly impove your driving with the 224 cam. My Yank 2600 stall a bit more behind my SS. Its perfectly driveable and I have no complaints. I wish it would hit harder like a big stall, but then it would give up its perfect street manners.
918s are single springs and will be fine with that cam. Stock retainers work perfectly. Thunder is a good place to buy them.

Crane and Patriot have the best valvesprings out from what I hear.
