my friend and I were wondering how much N/A hp can u get from the 5.3 and the 6.0, and still keep the truck as a daily driver, not towing anything really. just to go to work, cruise around town and take it up the state for vacation and stuff. This will also help me decide when i want to buy the 6.0 block. lq9 i believe was the stronger one.
Oh yea and btw, My w4m is starting to feel nice. i have 250 miles on it and i left a 25 ft burn out last night. I will be running my brothers maxima again soon. before the tune i was behind by 1 1/2 lenghts, now i wanna see where i am at. also this weekend im getting my cats removed and ordering pacesetter headers.. thanks for all the help so far guys..

sorry 2005 for the 5.3(295 hp) and say for the 6.0 whatever yr u think i will end up getting lq4 most likely. basically with full bolt ons and head work with the right cam. about whats the max numbers i will see. 5.3 compared to 6.0. is it like 60 more hp? i dunno thats probably not even close ?

full bolt on 5.3 vs full bolt on 6.0 id say maybe 30 to 50 more hp. alot more torque though. what are your goals for the truck as in are you looking for the fast track times, outrunning friends, of just high hp? there are many ways to goes about this. most poeple dont look at hp numbers as much as track times? like me, im almost full bolt on na6.0 but there are some na5.3 bolt on guys that are faster than me so go figure. if your just lookin to outrun friends then maybe all you need is to bolt on the 5.3

Thanks for the help..
Yea I'm right now racing friends, but we are talking about going to the track within the next few months. I want to get the most power i can and still keep it reliable (no n2o lol). full bolt ons, head work, and a good tune. About how much whp and tq would i gain from that. Over the next yr or so ill be competing with the hemi. we are both 4 door short beds.

i dont know about power wise but with a full bolt on 5.3 you could see some mid to high eights in the 1/8 which a slightly modded dodge aint goin to touch. and there is nothing wrong with nitrous if you use it right. it is the cheapest hp you can buy. when my truck was stock with a 4.8 with a few bolt ons i went 8.40s in the 1/8 with street tires.

what would mid 8s be in the 1/4? Yea the hemi has i/e/superchip on 22s and i had i/e and i was 3 feet behind him until i let off at 85. with this tune im hoping to be ahead by a small amount. this weekend i want to get my cats removed and ill be ordering the headers. pacesetters non coated for 265.

should be a mid to low 13. i alway refer to 1/8 cause thats what my track is.
the 22s are killen him. if you have big rims on you truck, i would suggest puttin on stocks when at the track. and like i said in the other thread, if you will look into getting a torque converter, cause you will need need it to get that thing movin off the line. look at most people sig. everybody has one. you sounded like you didnt want one or scared of one. my buddy had a rcsb 06 silvy that went 10.30 stock. then we put a 3600 converter and shift kit and it went 9.00
on slicks. i would not go that big, but you do need at least a 3200. you would love it

just with the addition of a tune should gain u more than those 3 feet on that dodge for sure. especially bein able to go past 5k rpm or whatever the stock rev limit was. i just sold my hypertech to go get a dynotune since it doesnt cost much more than a programmer or mail order tune.

yea 5800 rpms and it pulls all the way. it feels really nice. now my front bumper was 3 feet behind his back bumper. i would like to be even with him or 1 ft up. which would be about 20 something foot difference.. i think the tune coulda done that for me.
yea i got stock tires and rims. i was thinking about getting SS 20"S with 305 wide tires but not for a while. i want to get light rims anyways. and something to put wide tires on. how wide of tire can the stock ones hold?
also with the tq converter. would i need 3200 only if i had DRs or slicks? before i do head work (one of the last mods) im gonna look into building the tranny and rear end for the punishment of having the power and 0% TM. Im also thinking about an 80 shot. any suggestions about any of this?
So what im thinking is- headers, true duals with crossover,410s,wide tires, stall, built tranny, nice mid range cam. i dunno thats basically what im thinking.and possibly a small shot of n2o.
