Rubber freeze plug from the outside. You don't have to tear it down again. For the exhaust ether make another plate to block it or come get this manifold I have from a later year without EGR. Come by and look at mine if ya want. Just measure the ID of that hole and get an expandable freeze plug just a hair smaller.

Not quite the same, but this is a block off plate I built for the EGR port on my headers. I just stuck the gasket in there that came with the headers, but some high temp RTV should work just as well, if not better.
And yes, this is way to detailed.

Started out by tracing the shape on some oaktag to make a stencil.
Cut it out with a razor, and double checked fit.
Got some 1/8" aluminum from Home Depot.
Traced the shape of the stencil onto the aluminum.
Cut it out, just a rough shape.
Pretty close, but not perfect.
Touched it up with the bench grinder, and a file.
Drilling holes.
Holes drilled.
Had to make one a little bigger.
Sanded it with 600 grit, and hit it with some polish. Got some stainless Allen headed bolts.
Stainless lock nuts (that I ground the nylon part off of, since exhaust and plastic don't get along too well), and some lock washers.
Doesn't look half bad.
And this one, just because I liked the lighting.
