Now were talking. Im going to use this truck to tow my toyota prerunner. This wont be a racer, or 1/4 mile runner. Just a grocery getter/ toy hauler. A tune is definitely in order, for the time being I should be able to run off the stock pcm and larger injectors as you suggested. From what I understand, the ls6 is partially torn down, prepped for rebuild. He us asking for 3300 for everything complete accessories. Also comes with a 4l60e. Everything out of an 04 vette. How about reluctor wheel set up? I read that it is a 24 tooth set up. This should plug in like normal, correct?

Yes it is 24 tooth reluctor same as your truck. You may ask if he will negotiate a lower price since all you need is the long block without the accessories and transmission. Also, if it is not assembled then you should be able to negotiate a lower price for that as well.

You can run on the stock tune and injectors for the time being but I would strongly suggest getting the correct tune and injectors on it as soon as you can. Even if it is not going to be a race truck it is still beneficial to have the correct tune and parts to support the new engine. My dad and I both saw about 2mpg improvement once tuned for the new engines, they just simply run better and more efficient with the correct parts.

Engine is assembled, comes with ls1 intake. He wont split it up from the trans, but was asking 2800. If I can get it for 2500, think its a decent deal? Its at a shop and seller said the shop put it back together and everything is torqued properly, but that will be verified.
