Earth to zippy..... I believe all 4.8's, 5.3's, and 6.0's are ls1 based otherwise they would not be talked about 24/7 on "ls1tech.com". All 99+ trucks with a v8 Are ls1 based. What kind of vehicle do you have? If it's the s-10 in your pic. I'd like to know what kind of engine and mods do you have. Create a sig.

No need to argue the name. The 5.3 fits into the Gen. III family. Truthly, the 5.3L is not a ls1.
The ls1 is a 5.3 on steroids. (compression, more piston)

the sonoma gt in the picture has been sold for a while. it was just another toy. current toy is an LT1 M6 camaro. if i own it through the summer i'll be impressed.
no need for earth to zippy, i'm well aware that the 5.3 is a gen III small block. i'm also well aware that LS1 is simply the RPO used for the 5.7 introduced in the vette. i never use the "based on" name, only what it is. if that were the case when i worked on an L31 should i referrence that to the original 265???
as for randy, i'm sure the hell not driving down that way. most sites require some time of video or timeslip and that's the idea behind the
. if you posted either or simply had someone come in and say they seen the pass themself i'd have just left it alone. no need to be offended, times are questioned on the internet almost on a daily basis. any pictures of your truck? (no i'm not asking because i don't believe you have it, i just like pictures).
scream, you sure do. lololol

I was never abled to try the new converter in good weather. So I will hope for the best. As most of you know my all time best is a 12.81 with the vig. I've changed the converter to the tt3000. The only other change is the tires, from 26x11.50 to 26x10.50, which will probably do nothing. So, I'll hope for atleast a 12.9x so I can keep my screen name.
Slowprocess- what's up man? It's been a while. Anyways I see you got the eaton. Are you still spinning off the line? What tires are you running? If I were you i'd take a night at the track to feel the converter out. I had to do the same with my new one. Always get the tires nice and sticky for one. Try leaving all different ways. You know, try from an idle, let the engine cool, try from 1000, let it cool, try 1500, let it cool, try 2000, let it cool. Keep uping the rpm's until it pushes the brakes. Then compare all your 60' 's and that should tell you where your converter likes it. Hope this helps.
Bigkid- I know your out there. Noticed you got the truck back and running. Very impressive. Congrats!
Are you satisfied with it yet?
