Ya but with the edelbrock there will be no chance of number 7 going lean like you do with the LSx style intakes. The runner will stop that

I think when comparing the composite intakes to the old carb style intakes that there would be a difference in airflow bewtween the runners

only way to tell would be put o2 sensors on each primary and analyze the data

look at the truck intake, it has to go in, up and then back toward the front
I wonder whats happening in there at 6000+ rpm

Ya but if you look at the inside of a LSx intake, you can see that all of the air is pushed dirrectly to the back of the intake. There is nothing seperating it. This will cause you to have the number 7 go lean. The air hits the back of the intake and dumps into the number 7 1st. then it flows into the rest of them.

Then fuel might help in leaning it out, but the intake itself is a big part of the problem.

I see what you are saying about the LSX type manifold,

8ALNTG Which manifold did you get? the Victor Jr open plenum? I heard thats the one to use.

I heard there was some problems with flow on the GMPP one. You can't beat Edelbrock, I know that Richard and I talked about he said their stuff was really good.

What does your setup include?

Built 4.8l lower end
LS1 Heads p&p's
216/2xx cam
edelbrock shorty header
FMIC
67mm STS (14-20+lns boost)
soon to be 60lb injectors
and a carb intake (probibly a edelbrock one)

How about the Torque in Low end with this intake compared with LSX ...
