Default Express Van 6.0 Questions

Hi,
I'm hoping to buy an lq4 out of an express van for a 62 c10 project. It comes with harness, computer, and is complete. I am wondering if there are any differences from the truck lq4 motors? Will all parts (cams, lifters, etc) be the same between a van and truck lq4? thanks

Yes all the same. The good thing about the Express van is they are all drive by cable throttle even the later Gen3 models. Late Gen3 trucks are drive by wire making them kind of a pain in the *** swapping into earlier vehicles.

Are there any negatives to DBC compared to DBW other than having to figure out how to route the cable?

Looks like 2007's with the P59 are DBW in the vans, so I'm a year off.

Cable is a simple system that just works. DBW has a TAC module, electronic accelerator pedal and a electronic throttle body that communicates with one another via the PCM. DBW works well but can be problematic cobbling mismatched parts together. It's best to get the TAC that comes with the pedal (same vehicle) when scrounging the salvage yards. Your 62 has a mechanical throttle either a rod or flat bar that opens the carburetor so my guess that pedal will need changing anyways. Me I'd just get a cable pedal either aftermarket or salvage.
